How To Do SEO for Google? [Part 1]

Peter Gursky

In mean time you may find lots of companies and individuals that offer Search Engine Optimization (SEO) services. Some of them promise lots of traffic in a few weeks, some in a few months. What is the truth in this traffic game? Is it necessarily to hire a high payable SEO professional to do all this work from a scratch?

I think, some search engine optimization techniques must be implemented during the first phase of building your website. For example, be consistent with HTML coding; don't forget to fill out at least most important Meta tags such as title, keywords and description. Use web page file name related to the discussion topic of your web page in particular.

We all can guess and come up with different approaches to SEO, but in my opinion, there is another way to understand what search engines want.

Let's see what Google says about websites, which would be treated nicely.

1. Make pages for users, not for search engines.

This is the most discussed principle in today's Search Engine Optimization process. That is way Blogs, Forums; Bullet Boards are in favor of search engines. The fresh original content is the king!

2. Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings.

Google's website also recommends asking yourself a very simple question: "Would I do this if search engines didn't exist?" And that is true! Your website will not be seen returned visitors simply because they will not come back. They can recognize that content of your website is not for human being, but rather search engine optimized. You will probably lose your potential clients.

3. Don't participate in link exchange schemes.

This is also one important thing that you should keep in your mind. Since 2005 Google pays very much attention to such techniques. When you try to search for your website URL in Google's search box then you will see result page, which shows how many sites link to yours one. Also you will see how many websites contain your website URL. So, the last one shows all websites that Google treat as link exchange schemes. That is way MSN and Yahoo shows you much bigger number of websites linked to you, probably near of Google sum of "link to" and "contain the term". I guess, in the near future, other search engines will accept this approach too, so be careful while doing link exchanges.

4. Don't use unauthorized computer programs.

Here is the most interesting thing to say about. While Google restricts such use of software many webmasters do it. There are infinite numbers of tools you can find on internet which seem to be intended to help you to submit pages, check ranking, perform check other things. Such programs send automatic requests to Google's web site to retrieve necessary information. You need to be aware that Google can take some action. For an example put your website on black list to block your website from search engine result pages, i.e. your website will not be in search results forever.

As you can see SEO is not so difficult. These four guidelines just a few of many possible you can follow. There some more I want to talk about, but it will be in part 2. Please, stay tuned and I will share more tips on those techniques at http://www.LogicTechnologies.net?az=26&art=1
