Affiliate marketing a different perspective.
Robert J Coleman
I can almost here the shrieks anguish Oh no I here you say not another article on Affiliate marketing. However humour me and I promise you I will make this as painless as possible.
Affiliate marketing is one of the few processes that benefits all. Let me explain that statement. From the point of view of the person who joins as an affiliate this is an excellent way to market a product or service on the internet without 1) finding your own product or service to sell and 2) needing your own website.
This can be particularly beneficial to the novice or indeed anyone who does not want the hassle of searching for a product and then creating their own website which can be a daunting as well as a very costly business.
It also worth mentioning that in almost every case it will cost you nothing to become an affiliate.
Quite simply you direct a steady stream of traffic to the host site and anyone who you have directed who buys a product or uses a service from the site produces a percentage commission for you. This is achieved by means of an affiliate link which is unique to each affiliate and tells the host site that the customer who has just bought a product or used a service was directed their by a particular affiliate you.
The commission is paid automatically in to the bank of your choice by means of an intermediary such as Pay pal. This can occur at any time of the day or night literarily providing income while you sleep.
I dont know about you but I would sleep much more soundly knowing that when I wake up there could be more cash in my account than when I went to bed.
This however is only one side of the coin. From the point of view of the host site the benefits are equally as impressive.
I have over 20 years experience in sales and marketing and in particular local advertising. I used to sell an advert measuring roughly 9cm by 12 cm in a publication with approximately 10,000 circulation for wait for it 300 per month.
Now compare that to the website owner using affiliates. The first thing to realise is that he or she only pays their affiliates when a sale is made. So the affiliate is acting as a self-employed salesman for the website owner. No costly advertising commitment here just very sound business logic.
The second thing to realise is the enormous audience that the World Wide Web provides. We are not talking thousands or even tens of thousands we are talking millions maybe even billions logging on every day.
Now dont get me wrong obviously not all these people will visit your site, but say your affiliates provided a steady stream of new visitors to your site every day, you could be looking at potentially hundreds maybe thousands of new prospects each month.
In my humble opinion affiliate marketing offers enormous benefits providing cost effective marketing for all, truly the perfect business model.
