Review On Google Adwords Select
Lalit Goklani
Google has introduced "Google Adwords Select"
program which is extension of adwords program with cost per
click formula. It is very effective compared to other cost
per click programs.
In other programs, you are required to maintain constant
cost per click for each keyword you sign up. You are
required to do lot of manual work to stay on top and come
out paying less. For example, if you set a cost-per-click
of 91 cents in order to appear in the top spot, and the
advertiser in the second position reduced their price from
90 cents to 70 cents, you would be paying 20 cents more
than necessary in order to maintain your position.
Google adwords select does not require you to do this, you
simply set the same maximum cost per click in your control
panel for all keywords and the Adwords will charge you
lowest cost per click to maintain your position.
Your ad position is also affected by the number of clicks
you receive for a particular keyword. Your position is
decided by combination of maximum click amount and number
of clicks you received for a particular keyword. Thus,
targeting specific keywords will cause your ad to appear
higher on the page for the same price.
If you choose bad keywords and set higher maximum cost per
click, you may land up paying higher for the specific
keyword. For example, you have set your maximum cost per
click of $5 to stay at top all times and opted for
"advertising" keyword but you have your ad pertaining to
newsletter ads. This will result in your ad show up for
phrase "advertising" with very few clicks and since you are
ready to pay $5 to stay at top, Adwords may charge you $5
per click!!. Also, Google has policy on clickthrough rate
as well. Google says
"You will receive an email if the last 1,000 ad impressions
served to your campaign(s) receive fewer than five clicks.
The email will describe the simple steps you can follow to
improve the performance of your keywords and restore full
delivery to your campaign(s). Please note that the AdWords
automated performance monitor will continue to watch the
clickthrough of your keywords, so if your targeting
improvements don't work out, you will receive another
email. If you need to restore full delivery a third time,
you will be charged a $5 re-activation fee."
You can judge your keywords and clicks very well if you
have signed up with previous " Google Adwords" and noted
the specific keyword response against impressions shown.
According to me, good judgement and targeting specific
keywords can give an edge over your competitors and save
your pockets.
